運動器の病気や外傷、スポーツ障害に対して最新の診断法や治療法の研究を行い、またチーム医療教育の成果について研究をしています。
治療面では手術療法と術前、術後の理学療法を包括的に活用する運動器機能回復治療の研究をしています。

▌教育と研究

研究内容
  1. 運動器疾患の手術前後における理学療法の役割: 特に変形性股関節症の治療における理学療法の重要性について、装具の役割、歩行解析、また運動療法や物理療法の有用性についていろいろな解析方法を用いて検討している。
  2. 他職種連携教育(チーム医療教育)の有用性の解析:他職種連携とその教育の必要性は国内外で注目を浴びているが、そのエビデンスに乏しい。多方面からその有用性を解析している。
教育業務
学部教育

全専攻学生を対象とした『チームワーク実習』の企画・運営に携わっている。また、主に理学・作業療法専攻学生に対して、整形外科学の講義を行っている。講義終了後には実地の手術を体で体験するための手術見学を希望者に行っている。他専攻の学生に対しては、リハビリテーションの概論、外科系の臨床講義を行っている。

大学院教育

(前期課程:運動器・スポーツ障害学特別研究 後期課程:臨床理学・作業療法学特別研究)

前期課程では、理学療法学の生体力学的アプローチの知識・技術を教授し、後期課程では、理学療法学に関与する研究者、指導者を育成すべく、生体力学的研究や細胞生物学的研究など幅広い手法を駆使した教育をしている。

▌臨床業務、地域・国際貢献

臨床業務

附属病院の整形外科の診療に参加し、主に骨軟部腫瘍の治療に当たっている。

地域・国際貢献

群馬大学大学教育・学生支援機構健康支援総合センター学校医としてスポーツ障害・整形外科を担当して学生の健康管理に寄与している。群馬大学医師会の理事として、また群馬県整形外科医会理事として地域医療の発展・充実に参画している。平成16年には群馬大学ボランテイア医師として前橋市消費生活センターにおける健康相談を行った。また、毎年群馬県スポーツドクターとして群馬県体育協会の『健康・体力測定』に参加している。

国際的活動としては、2008年より多職種連携教育の有用性の解析と普及活動を、WHOと連携して主にアジア地域に展開している。
